Geeky Crafting

So instead of doing homework, I wanted to work "real quick" (lol) on a project I came up with last night.

Recently Duct Tape has been popular for crafting all kind of things so all these new Duck Tape designs can be found everywhere. I, of course, had to buy a few rolls I really liked, but have been stuck as to how to use them. Decorated Packing Tape would be lighter to use for the Mail Art I like doing, but there is not much selection in that department (people don't really write letters anymore **gasp!**). So unless I am sending out a package, Duct Tape makes the envelope really heavy, which naturally make the postage go up outrageously.

After a night full of Pinning (see J Pinterest is a GOOD thing =PP)of Art Journal ideas I realized I need to start thinking outside of the box and get my hands a little dirty. One way to do that is to Experiment and somehow Duct Taping my Art Journal and Sketchbook popped into my mind. This lets me 1)Create a fun new cover AND use my Duct Tape and 2) creates a more durable cover for these books as the front covers tends to tear from being carted around in my bag. So without further ado, I present my Duct Taped journals!

Minion Duct Tape

I like the Marvel and Comic Book Quotes the most because of the contrast between the lighter front cover and the darker back cover.

Reality

I'm coming to believe that your Reality is what your mind is focused on. This gives you so much power to Create the Life you want by simply changing your Focus....

10-27-2013 Talking Dead guest Marilyn Manson....WTH

So, I may not like his music, but I  always thought Marilyn Manson was somewhat intelligent until last night's episode of Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick, Jack Osborne and “Walking Dead” producer Gale Anne Hurd.

I  mean seriously, Marilyn Manson was off on some weird tangents and Chris Harwick was trying real hard to keep the ball rolling, but finally had to start laying down the smack down. He had Justin and I rolling with this comment to Manson:

"Someone online is writing an algorithm to follow this train of thought. "

Best line ever. Well played, Chris, well played.

If you want a transcript of the whole dialogue to see what Manson was saying (cause half the time we were like "huh??") Comicbook.com posted it here.

Such a shame because both Jack Osbourne and Gale Anne Hurd were giving good commentary.

Geeky Cards

So for my friend's son's birthday party I decided to make his card instead of buying one (my first foray into card making =D):

Envelope and front of the card

Inside of the card

(all images were printed off the internet and are the property of Universal Studios)

Then I decided to get really ambitious and make my sister a Yoda Thank You card from cut paper:

Yoda is property of George Lucas/Disney

I like the minion card better, but that is probably because they are professional graphics lol

Sorry to spam post today, but I've been addicted to Pinterest lately and have been a total slacker. LOL

Hello R2D2!

I was crushed to find out today that the Hello Star Wars and Hello Superheroes are not real! Well not real dolls anyways.

I wanted to buy the Hello R2D2:

These Hello Star Trek ones are adorable, too.

Why oh why must you pull on my geeky heartstrings?
